The secret, Chiang says, is to "begin by knowing that you have already arrived." Chiang takes him beyond his previous learning, teaching him how to move instantaneously to anywhere else in the universe. He discovers that his sheer tenacity and desire to learn make him "a gull in a million", and befriends the wisest gull in that plane, named Chiang. He is then met by two seagulls, who take him to a higher plane of existence, where he meets other gulls who love to fly. An outcast, he continues to learn, becomes increasingly pleased with his abilities and leads an idyllic life. I love watching a book I love come to life with each picture they post - I can't wait to play the game! Misty Lethcoe, fan I've been watching Team OMSG create this game from the beginning. People did things they shouldn't probably do and that's because of the amount of pressure riding on the game. I don't think we've conceded four goals in a game all season, but it was that type of game. "I always knew that, at 3-1, another goal would just make it really edgy and it certainly did. It's disappointing, given the game was in the palm of our hands. "At the start of the second half, I think we felt like we had to chase Blackburn down and we just left too much space and when you leave space to good players who've got nothing to lose, they've got an opportunity to punish you. I said about it before that part of the challenge would be to see how we coped with what was on the line and, at 3-1, we have to hold our shape and play with discipline. "You've got to hold your nerve in games like this. Rowett: It's another strong season, but we've got to learn to play better under pressure This is the ghost story I’ve been looking for- for ages! Sylvia Day writes erotica and historical fiction. Overall I found this to a pleasant read with a strong romance and likable characters. It isn't often that I don't see a twist coming, so it was kind of refreshing here to see not all was as it appeared. The villain wasn't hard to figure out, but I was surprised by the motives of some of the other characters. I truly enjoyed both main characters and the way they fell into love with one another. I was also concerned that Jasper would push Eliza away, thinking it was "for her own good". So I thought she'd have a fit when she realized Jasper wasn't everything he'd claimed to be, but Day really took things in an unexpected - and welcome - direction. She's learned to be distrustful of men and their motives and really has no desire to be attached to one. She was leery about marriage thanks to growing up with a mother who prized passion and love more than anything else. There were several things I predicted were going to happen that didn't. Quite a few things in this book too me by surprise. |
